How to Remove Acne Scars Effectively?

The post-inflammatory skin pigmentation is the name given to the natural healing process of the human body. Acne scars generally improve over a period of two years after the first formation. The body uses collagen to heal the skin tissues and renew blood vessels. Acne scars can be either raised growth or depression craters. Some even experience roller scars which are a mix of raised as well as depressed scars. The roller scars provide a wavy skin texture.

The presence of acne scars can be a cause of social embarrassment. If you also have acne scars, then here is some good news for you. There are various holistic and cosmetic procedures to get rid of the acne scars effectively.

Proven Ways To Remove Acne Scars:

Tea tree Oil: Gels with tea tree oil as constituents can heal the skin and make it appear smooth. The oil is known to remove acne scars effectively.
Lemon juice: Squeeze the juice of a lemon into a small cup. Dab a ball of cotton on the juice and apply on the skin as a cleanser. Let the skin drench in the juice for at least 10 minutes. Massage the area gently and wash with clean water. The acidic content of lemon is known to kill the bacteria and the natural bleaching effect of lime juice effectively reduces the reddishness and inflammation caused by the acne scars.

Rose water and pineapple puree: Cleanse the acne scar with a cotton ball dipped in rose water. Rose water can stimulate the blood vessels and improve circulation. Steam your face over a water bowl for a minimum of 15 minutes. This process can open up the pores and hair follicles. Now, puree fresh pineapple, apply on the scarred area and rub in circular motions. The ascorbic acid in pineapple will fade the dark scars and the vitamin C will enter the pores to aid collagen in rebuilding tissues.

Baking soda and olive oil: Apply baking soda to the blemish area and massage gently in circular motion. After a minute, reverse the direction of circular motions. This will help in removing dead cells from the skin surface. Baking soda is known to work as a micro-dermabrasion treatment on the skin. Apply ice cubes on the scars and leave it for 10 minutes. This will close the skin pores and reduce the inflammation.

Olive oil: Massage the blemishes with olive oil. The olive oil acts as a moisturizer and softens the skin when it seeps into the pores and brightens the complexion.

Topical crèmes: You can also obtain over the counter topical crèmes that can stimulate the growth of fresh skin cells and reduce the appearance of scars. These crèmes contain alpha hydroxyl acids that can effectively reduce itching and consequent inflammation on acne scars.
